John Otto, Washington State native and avid waterfowler has just released his first book "Season of a Wing-Shooter". The over riding theme of the book is one of family, tradition, and human values as several different relationship types surface. Be it the bond between man and dog, or the long storied theme of passing down through the family, or even the cherished relationship of the “hunting partner”, this book will run you through the emotions experienced by the typical outdoor family and hunter. Sit back, recall, and let yourself fade into your own memories afield as you live through the passionate adventures of the Otto Brothers.
John and Jason Otto spent well over a year in the field chasing down and photographing their subjects in the many poses and situations it takes to create usable reference. In the first Volume the Otto Brothers randomly take on ten selected species and show through stunning pictures the many angles, poses, and natural attitudes of these Waterfowl. Jason’s expertise on the camera tells their stories, shapes, and sizes in a format usable for the many hobbies that accompany all those whose passion is shared by these brothers. Along the way they have supplied some field notes of these species and supply a few unique facts and stories not found in the traditional text. For the bird watchers they give some general information where these birds can be found in the wild. For the carver they offer some insight for each species that may be of some use. The taxidermist will also find a hint or two. For those simply interested in adding to there collection of wildlife art there are some interesting observations for general information.
